If you are one of the thousands of tourists and travelers who think that the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone or Yosemite are the most visited national parks in the United States, then it’s obvious you have not visited Tennessee. It may surprise you to know that the Great Smoky Mountains (or “Smokies”), is the most visited national park in the United States. It is a region of outstanding and natural beauty. It attracts twice as many visitors than its closest rival, the Grand Canyon each year.

One of the reasons why the state is popular is as a result of its accessibility –it is sandwiched among eight other states. Another reason is due to its incredible natural beauty, its rich history, and many first-class attractions. If you love music, this is where to be. From the Elvis Rock’n’Roll to big country names like Johnny Cash, Tennessee has been the starting point for many of the country’s most important artists and genres. There are many other things to do than visiting the Smokies or listening to music, below are a few:

  • Visit the Graceland and the Elvis Presley Memphis Complex
  • Birth of the Music Biz: Memphis and Nashville
  • The Tennessee Wanderer at Dollywood (Named after country singer Dolly Parton), etc.
  • Tennessee in other to get into the Jack Daniels Distillery tour. The dry Moore distillery is located in Moore County, and of course, you wouldn’t want to drink and drive, so you’d be required to finish the tour before sipping your bourbon drink. You can only enjoy this with your rental car, not with the public buses.
