About Chicago and its Sights

Nothing has to envy Chicago to other great cities of the world. Full of attractions, modern and with a characteristic skyline, the Windy City, or Second City, as it is still called, is a tourist destination that you have to consider. Not only will you be impressed by its skyscraper ceiling and modern architecture.

You will also be able to stroll through large parks and original pedestrian areas, visit museums that are of international standard, and even sunbathe and bathe on its more than 20 beaches on the shores of Lake Michigan. Discover its emblematic neighborhoods, as well as shopping areas, restaurants, renowned theaters, and large sports and event stadiums.

If you want to get some great views of the city, don’t miss the Skydeck space in the Willis Tower. It is located on the 103rd floor of the building and its four glass viewpoints will allow you to see Chicago from one of the highest points.

Visit Millennium Park. Created for the new millennium, it is known as Chicago’s front yard. It is located between the city center and Lake Michigan, and is one of the most popular places to spend time outdoors.

Visit 360 Chicago. This is one of the most recommended skyscrapers in Chicago to visit. Located on the 94th floor of one of the tallest buildings on Michigan Avenue, 300 meters above sea level, it offers one of the best views in the city. On a clear day, visitors can glimpse up to four different states. It takes less than 40 seconds to climb and its main attraction is the Tilt glass capsule, which tilts forward for a unique, high-impact view of the streets.

Do you like to walk? Chicago’s a good city for it. You’ll love places like the Riverwalk. It’s a pleasant pedestrian walk along part of the Chicago Riverfront and is filled with sitting areas, restaurants, bars and terraces near the water. Enjoy the architectural views and hop on a cruise ship or water taxi.

Drive your rental car down the Magnificent Mile. It’s the hub of the city. Great brands, luxury shops, boutiques, restaurants, skyscrapers, entertainment… Many of Chicago’s tourist attractions are located in this area of Michigan Avenue or very close to it. Drive your rental car across the Michigan Avenue Bridge. This is a bascule bridge, like many of Chicago’s bridges, and was built in 1920 as part of the Burnham Plan to shape the city’s urban landscape. If you approach its two towers, you will see that they have sculptural reliefs representing moments of the city’s history. The shopping area that is now the Magnificent Mile was brought about by the construction of this bridge.

Visit the United Center. If you’re a sports fan, this is the biggest stadium in the country. It houses the Chicago Blackhawks ice hockey team and the Chicago Bulls basketball team. In fact, Michael Jordan himself played at the United Center and has a statue there in his honor called The Spirit.

You can’t miss the Chicago Theatre. Whether you decide to enter for a guided tour, to see a play or to admire its façade, this is one of the city’s must-sees in the field of performing arts.

Upon arrival at the O’Hare International Airport, next on your mind is how to get out and check into your hotel. But you need a car for transit, don’t you? It is possible to take a taxi and then join the unending queue at the bus stations. But this won’t allow you to experience the city to the fullest. Your best bet to have a total experience is to get a rental car.

It doesn’t matter your budget, our car rental at the Chicago O’Hare Airport is as simple as ABC. Irrespective of your budget, there is a car for you and every purpose. If you’re coming into Chicago with your family, friends, or you are coming alone, take advantage of our Milwaukee car rental service to get the best deal on rental cars that’s not just cheap but comfortable.

About the Airport

Chicago O’Hare International Airport (IATA: ORD) is located on the Far Northwest Side of Chicago, Illinois, 16.5 miles (28 km) northwest of the Chicago Loop (The Loop is the central business district or downtown of Chicago). We could say that O’Hare is the international gateway to much of the American Midwest.

There is another airport serving the Chicago metropolitan area: Midway International Airport (MDW), about 10 miles (16 km) closer to the Loop.

This is one of the biggest airports in the world (is the sixth-busiest airport in the world by passenger traffic), serving more than 200 destinations, and it sometimes has frequent delays and cancellations. For this reason, there are plenty of hotels in the O’Hare area.

O’Hare has 4 numbered passenger terminals with nine lettered concourses and a total of 182 gates. Terminals 1, 2 (that will be demolished soon), and 3 allow airside connections and Terminal 5 are separated from the other terminals by a set of taxiways that cross over the airport’s access road.
