The Washington Dulles Airport is an international airport in Loudoun and Fairfax counties of Virginia. It is about 16 miles from the west of downtown Washington. The airport serves the Washington metropolitan area.

The airport was opened in 1962 and was named after John Dulles Foster (1888-1959), he was the 52nd secretary of state and served under President D. Dwight Eisenhower. The main terminal at the Washington Dulles International Airport is a known landmark and was designed by Eero Saarinen. The airport is operated by the Washington metropolitan airport authority. The airport occupies about 13,000 acres of land and straddles the Loudoun-Fairfax line.  Most of the airport lies within the unincorporated Dulles community of Loudoun County, and the other small portion is in the unincorporated Chantilly community in Fairfax County.

The state of Virginia itself is one that has got to its side, its own fair share of American history. There have been eight U.S presidents from this state. It is a state that provides visitors or tourists an experience of a lifetime. There is a whole lot to do in the cities and counties here. From the captivating museums, wineries, beautiful parks, hiking trails, mountains, VA beaches, flea markets, and a whole lot of other unique attractions like exotic wedding venues.

The city has lots of nice natural attractions, one of which is the Shenandoah national park. You’d also get to see the Natural Bridge, Luray caverns, the barrier island of Chincoteague and Assateague, and a lot more.

You may start your tour of the numerous sites in D.C, the capital city which has experienced a lot of resurgence in the last few years by visiting the Franklin Delano Roosevelt memorial national mall. Or you may choose to turn back the hands of time with Virginia’s Ali of Bens chili bowl.

There’s also the Basilica of the national Immaculate Conception shrine. If you are a Christian, it may interest you to know that various religious figures like Mother Theresa, Pope John Paul II, Pope Francis, and several other religious figures have all visited this shrine.

Having arrived D.C, you need to visit the international spy museum as well as the Washington National Cathedral. You also need to see the Smithsonian Institution and the White House, but all these will not be comfortably done by hailing taxis and hopping on public buses. It is very important you get your rental car from the Washington Dulles International Airport.

Our rental car service makes searching for your most preferred car and signing the contract very easy. We have a fleet of choice cars, from your dream luxury cars to the budget economy cars. Do you want a sedan, SUV, convertible or the spacious van to contain your family? We’ve got them all.

Then head to the shuttle pick up at 2D. Ensure you join the shuttle of the rental company you have booked with.
