About the Airport

The Pittsburgh International Airport, which was formerly known as the Greater Pittsburgh International Airport, is located in the suburbs of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, in the eastern United States and is a civil-military international airport. It is between the towns of Findlay and Moon in Allegheny County, which is about 30 km to the west of downtown Pittsburgh, at an elevation of about 350m above the sea level.

The airport was built in replacement of the Allegheny County Airport. The Allegheny was closer to Pittsburgh but it was becoming too small to carry the growing passenger traffic. Pittsburgh airport serves Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
